A First Look at Bustelo’s Biggest Expansion Yet

What started as a New York City–rooted story centered on Lina has grown into a vibrant, coast-to-coast community, featuring friends, families, and neighbors from across the U.S. Each character comes with their own backstory, style, and setting, from Maya’s Southwestern sparkle to Pedro’s Miami murals, D’Angelo’s traveling camper van, and Katie’s Texas backyard BBQ. Together, they paint a richer picture of what cafecito culture looks like in kitchens, stoops, and porches nationwide.

This chapter is more than a visual upgrade. It’s a showcase of what happens when worldbuilding meets cultural fluency. The Bustelo universe is crafted by a diverse BNS team whose multicultural backgrounds fuel its authenticity. Every hairstyle, nail design, and home detail is drawn with lived-in accuracy, from the curve of a braid to the glint of a kitchen rooster. Led by Creative Director, Andres Rivera, the crew blends 2D character animation with richly built 3D environments, giving each scene a cinematic lens and a touch of animated magic. It’s Bustelo as you know it, but bigger, brighter, and more connected than ever—proving that wherever you are, community is just a cup away.
