How can we make a smartphone stand out on an in-store display? How can we add excitement to something that has become a mundane part of our daily routine? These were the questions that guided our creative process and inspired the tactile visual language that showcases not only the beautiful designs of Google's new Pixel phones, but also their intelligence.
The visual narrative conveys the smart and dynamic tools offered by the Pixel 4a through undeniably appealing movements, textures, and colors that provoke curiosity and a desire for interaction. Like a rare toy found at a museum gift shop, colored marbles roll through a varied terrain, finding "Google-y" things to do along the way. The crafty textures and familiar physics create an oddly satisfying interaction - an engagement that makes you want to watch and touch it.
Brumby created (spectacular) 2D motion sketches to articulate the motion.
