    Brand New School has named long-time in-house contributor Robert Bisi as creative director/director. Since starting at Brand New School as a freelancer in 2005, Bisi has steadily evolved from designer and 3D generalist to art director and live-action director.

    Paul Abatemarco joins BNS as Executive Producer

    Brand New School welcomes Paul Abatemarco as the new Executive Producer of our Los Angeles office.

    Abatemarco joins the Brand New School team from an established history in the live action, VFX, and motion graphics industry. Hailing from past EP positions at MPC Creative and Stardust, Abatemarco brings over fifteen years of industry experience to Brand New School’s creatively charged culture.

    Abatemarco’s hire comes on the heels of Brand New School’s division expansion and Managing Partner Devin Brook’s return to the helm of the New York office. After working with top agencies including TBWA/Chiat/Day, Deutsch, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, The Martin Agency, and Leo Burnett on campaigns for notable brands such as Nissan, Blackberry, Google, Adidas, American Airlines, and the Grammy’s, to name a few, Abatemarco’s expertise will be invaluable to Brand New School’s commercial work.

    “I have been a fan of Brand New School for a long time,” notes Abatemarco. “I’ve always admired the flexibility they have from a creative standpoint. A lot of companies get pigeonholed visually, but BNS has thrived at keeping things fresh and has avoided being labeled because of they have a culture where creative ideas trump everything else, which is important to me.”

    We are proud to announce that Devin Brook has been appointed Managing Partner of their Los Angeles and New York studios.

    Brook will continue to oversee the caliber of innovative and award-winning work that Brand New School has produced under his management as Executive Producer of the company’s live action production, design, animation and VFX. He also spearheaded the newly formed interactive division, bns.labs.

    Devin has also shared his rich industry experience as a guest lecturer at the NYU/Wharton/Columbia/MIT Media and Entertainment Conference, SCAD’s Inspire Conference and the Columbia Business School, and as a panelist at AICP conferences.     Sparkling ICE bubbles to the top with BNS

    BNS recently completed work on an animated spot for Sparkling ICE beverages that debuted nationwide today across network and cable stations. The spot is the first foray into television advertising for the brand and is part of a multi-million dollar cross-platform campaign for the drink, which is the fastest growing non-alcoholic beverage brand in the United States.

    Brand New School’s Augmented Reality Exam Room was featured as part of Kaiser Permanente’s booth at TEDMED. The iPad-based tour, created for the KP Center for Total Health, uses AR to enliven a model exam room with animated 3D characters and content, allowing visitors to explore the healthcare innovations behind everything they see. Visitors can even take their picture with some of the characters featured on the tour.

    BNS wins AICP for design at MoMA, Finally!

    BNS was top of the class in the design category at the AICP Show, taking home the trophy for “Only The Brave.” The show, held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, honors the best in commercial advertising. The OTB spot, created in collaboration with Antidote and Diesel, was one of two pieces honored for excellence in design. All of this years winners will be held forever in the MoMA archives.
